Development of a decision support tool for the greenhouse sector

The purpose is described as follows:

To develop and encourage the use of a decision support tool for and by public and private stakeholders in the Turkish horticulture. Based on the model for modern horticultural production technology which has been produced for Turkey, the project partners develop a web-based decision making tool. The tool is meant for potential clients of Dutch suppliers to assess their investment plans and calculate the return on investment. The tool will be freely available on internet to be serviced by one of the partners (Starsale) during the project period. Starsale’s Turkish subsidiary is situated in the technology development centre (Teknokenti) of the University of Antalya. Actually in July 2011 the pilot version of the DST is ready and will be implemented by means of regional seminars and a road show involving regional Turkish institutions such as Chamber of Commerce, Exporters union, Provincial Directorates of Agriculture.
